# Git commits get real descriptions

By Steven Van · 2026-08-17

Commit messages and checkpoint names are now generated from what changed in a turn, like "Add pie chart component", instead of a generic label.

[Base44](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/base44>) now reads what actually changed in a turn and writes the commit message and checkpoint name from it, instead of a generic label. A connected repository's history reads like "Add pie chart component" as a result, according to the [August 17 changelog](<https://docs.base44.com/changelog/product#august-17-2026>).
