# Data residency covers your media

By Steven Van · 2026-10-07

Private files in new Base44 apps are now kept in the same region as the rest of the app's data; apps created earlier are not covered.

Private files that a [Base44](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/base44>) app stores now stay in the same region as the rest of the app's data. The change applies to apps created from now on, as [the changelog entry](<https://docs.base44.com/changelog/product#october-7-2026>) describes it.

The entry was listed under Enterprise & SSO and Data & media. It does not say whether apps created earlier are affected, and it does not name the regions or plans involved.
