# Base Code checks upstream changes before they reach main

By Steven Van · 2026-09-28

Failed upstream commits no longer touch an app's working main, and Base44 offers a repair branch instead.

Commits that come from your repository are now tried in a separate sandbox before they land on the main branch of an app in [Base44](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/base44>). If the check fails, the working main is left as it was and Base44 offers a repair branch instead.

The change applies to apps connected through Base Code. It is listed under developer tools in the [Base Code documentation](<https://docs.base44.com/Getting-Started/base-code>) and the September 28 release notes.
