# Photoshop beta highlights layers on hover

Move tool now outlines canvas objects and syncs with the Layers panel in either direction, with colours and behaviour set in Preferences.

A Move tool update in [Photoshop](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/adobe-photoshop>) beta shows an outline of a canvas object on hover and highlights the matching entry in the Layers panel, and works in reverse when hovering over the Layers panel itself. Layers with masks display both shown and hidden pixel data. The [outline colour, thickness, and Layers panel highlight colour](<https://community.adobe.com/questions-700/hover-layer-bounds-is-now-in-photoshop-beta-668826>) can be set in Preferences under Guides, Grid & Slices, and the hover behaviour itself is configurable from the new gear menu in the Move tool's Options bar.
