# AI Mode in Chrome opens pages side by side with search

AI Mode in Chrome desktop now opens [webpages beside the search panel](<https://blog.google/products-and-platforms/products/search/ai-mode-chrome/>). You can ask follow-up questions that reference both the open page and the wider web.

A plus menu on the New Tab page and inside AI Mode lets you combine recently opened tabs, images and files like PDFs in a single query. Existing tools, including Canvas and image creation, are also available from that menu.

The updates are available in the U.S., with Google planning to expand them to more places.
