# Google Earth adds shapefile and 3D model imports

Google Earth added [shapefile and custom 3D model imports](<https://mapsplatform.google.com/resources/blog/bring-more-of-your-data-to-google-earth-with-new-shapefile-and-3d-model-imports/>), plus elevation profiles in the measure tool.

Upload a .zip containing shapefiles to bring geographic features and their attributes into a map project as data layers. That could include tax lots, infrastructure, or topographic data that you want to style and share.

For custom 3D models, upload a GLB file, then adjust its position, scale, and rotation on the globe. You can place an architectural mock-up in its real-world setting and share it. Draw with the measure tool to see an elevation profile graph in the inspector panel.
