# Claude API ships its first new version since 2023

[Claude API version 2026-10-21](<https://x.com/ClaudeDevs/status/2113013247209021918>) is available, its first official version since 2023. Version 2023-06-01 isn't deprecated.

[Anthropic](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/products/anthropic>) plans to release API versions more often so developers can handle breaking changes before a new model requires them.
