# Nano Banana vs Seedream: Which to Use for Marketing Images

Synthesys's [Nano Banana and Seedream comparison](<https://synthesys.io/blog/nano-banana-vs-seedream/>) looks at marketing images, including resolution, editing, text and API costs. It's based on documentation and other people's tests; Synthesys hasn't run its own test and discloses that its Studio runs both model families.

Among the useful distinctions: both Nano Banana models and Seedream 4.5 reach 4K, while Seedream 5.0 Pro tops out at 2K. Seedream 5.0 Pro supports edits marked with boxes, arrows or doodles; Seedream 4.5 doesn't.

Nano Banana 2 is free to try in Gemini within usage limits, but neither Nano Banana model has a free Gemini API tier. BytePlus's own model services aren't available in the United States. The comparison also flags the original Nano Banana's API shutdown, scheduled for 2 October 2026.
