# Genie 4 simulates worlds you can steer in real time

Google DeepMind's Genie 4 is a research preview for generated worlds you can [explore and change](<https://deepmind.google/blog/genie-4-a-new-generation-of-world-simulation/>) in real time. DeepMind says the environments include sound and people who move, react, and speak. Keyboard controls move you around; natural-language requests can change the weather, camera, or objects while the world runs.

Access is limited to trusted testers, with a waitlist open. Google AI Ultra subscribers in [Project Genie](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/products/google-project-genie>) and early access partners of the Gemini API and Google AI Studio are next.

Sessions last a few minutes, details can drift, and real places aren't simulated perfectly. Real-time audio is still being improved. Video and audio carry a SynthID watermark.
