# GitHub Copilot in VS Code, Universe releases You can [start a Copilot cloud agent session]() in VS Code and continue the same session in the GitHub Copilot app, GitHub Mobile, github.com or Copilot CLI. The work runs on GitHub's infrastructure, so closing your laptop doesn't stop it. Sessions started in Slack or Microsoft Teams DMs can also continue across these clients. For agents running on your own machines, the new Agent Host keeps sessions separate from individual VS Code windows. You can close a project window or run an agent on a remote machine through Remote SSH or dev tunnels. The machine doing the work and its Agent Host must stay running.
