# Photoshop's Remove Tool can now run its AI model on-device

Photoshop's Remove Tool has a [beta generative AI model](<https://community.adobe.com/announcements-698/remove-tool-on-device-generative-ai-model-beta-1558892>) that runs on your device, so you can remove objects offline. In the Options bar, set Generative AI Processing to Device in the Mode drop-down. Photoshop downloads a roughly 5 GB model; you can switch back to Cloud in the same menu.

The beta needs at least 10 GB of free disk space, with Use Graphics Processor and Remove Tool: Faster enabled. Hardware requirements are substantial:

- Mac: Apple Silicon M1 Max or higher, 24 GB RAM minimum, and macOS Tahoe (macOS 26) or later. M4 Max is recommended.

- Windows: an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-series or higher GPU with at least 14 GB VRAM, or an Intel system with a discrete GPU and 12 GB VRAM. Using integrated graphics only requires 32 GB system RAM.

If Device is greyed out, the system doesn't meet the requirements.
