# Rate Limits for Runner and App Management

[fal now limits app](<https://docs.fal.ai/changelog#october-13-2026>) and runner management calls across the CLI, Python SDK, and REST API. Requests to app endpoints aren't affected.

Limits vary by operation: listing apps or runners allows 120 calls per minute, while stopping runners allows 60 calls per minute. Check the [rate limits](<https://docs.fal.ai/docs/documentation/serverless/reliability/rate-limits>) before setting up polling or batch management.

Rejected calls return 429 Too Many Requests through REST or RESOURCE\_EXHAUSTED through the CLI and SDK. The x-ratelimit-reset header tells you how many seconds to wait. The CLI and SDK don't retry automatically, and a runner keeps running if its stop or kill call is rejected.
