Pika's API Club adds Seedance 2.5 at flat, wholesale pricing

By Steven Van ·

New members get a $10 usage credit their first month, offsetting the Club's flat $10/month fee.

ByteDance's Seedance 2.5 is now available through the Pika API Club, and Pika is leading with a number: up to 88% cheaper than other API aggregators. The company is explicit that this is not a launch promotion. In its own words, "this is not a temporary discount. It's our literal price." For developers and studios wiring AI video into products and pipelines, that framing matters, because model access costs are usually where the margin quietly disappears.

Pika announces Seedance 2.5 on the Pika API Club at up to 88% below other aggregators

The literal price, not a promo

Pika's API Club works differently from typical aggregators. Most resellers of model APIs add a markup on top of provider rates, which Pika has characterized as roughly 3x across the industry. The API Club instead charges a flat $10 per month membership, then passes through usage at what Pika calls wholesale pricing, negotiated on behalf of the whole membership pool. New members get a $10 usage credit in their first month, effectively making the first month's membership free. Pika is careful to note it cannot guarantee the lowest price on every single model, but the "up to 88% cheaper" claim is its stated ceiling against other aggregators' listed prices.

What Seedance 2.5 brings to the club

Seedance 2.5 is the model worth doing this math for. It generates up to 30 seconds of video natively in a single pass, accepts up to 50 multimodal references in one request (images, video, and audio together), and supports regional editing so you can revise part of a frame without regenerating the clip. Longer clips are exactly where per-second pricing bites hardest, so a steep discount on a 30-second-native model compounds: the cheaper rate applies to three times the footage per generation compared with typical 10-second models.

How the membership math works out

The $10 monthly fee only makes sense if you generate enough volume for the savings to clear it, and for video that bar is low. Pika's own comparison for the previous Seedance generation showed that a handful of 15-second generations already saved more than the monthly fee versus Runway's API pricing. The API Club catalog spans more than 100 generative models across video, image, audio, speech, and LLMs, including Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1, and GPT Image 2, so the membership amortizes across everything you route through it, not just Seedance.

What builders should check before switching

An aggregator is only as good as its reliability and parity, so the usual due diligence applies: confirm the Seedance 2.5 features you need (reference counts, clip length, editing endpoints) are exposed through Pika's API and not just the first-party BytePlus one, and benchmark latency for your region. But the pricing structure itself is refreshingly legible. A flat membership plus pass-through rates is easier to forecast than tiered credit systems, and it puts pressure on every other aggregator reselling the same models at a markup. If AI video is a line item in your product's unit economics, this release is worth a spreadsheet.
