Alpha Changelog - 10/1/26

Midjourney's alpha site gets bug fixes, a single style pill for mixed srefs and per-folder parameters, ahead of collaborative tools next week.
Midjourney's alpha site got a week of bug fixes and cleanup, with new collaborative tools due next week. Midjourney lists the changes in its 10/1/26 alpha changelog, many of them taken from the #alpha-ideas-and-bugs channel and office hours.
- Prompt bar: all the srefs in a prompt now show as a single style pill with thumbnails, and hovering it lists the codes. --exp can be pinned as a folder default in the advanced settings. Sending a previewed style now keeps your prompt-bar settings.
- Folders and history: prompt parameters are saved per folder, within a tab's session. Opening an image deep in a history of 100K+ images no longer crashes the site.
- Editing: edits keep the base image's aspect ratio, so a stray --ar in the prompt won't stretch the result. Action rows in the edit view scroll when they don't fit the window.
- Search and filters: searching starts the Create and Explore feeds from the top, and Back restores the page you were on. Filters clear when you switch between Organize and Create.
- Organize and drag and drop: the selection rectangle in Organize mode can start from anywhere, so selecting no longer drags images by accident. Dragging an image shows an attach card on the prompt bar with a "Reference style" option. Moodboard pages accept files dropped from a computer.
- Create feed: list view keeps the prompt in place, and the "To top" control is now a small pill. The rerun button keeps its shape on tablets, and collapsed sidebar rows have their "..." menu back. Mac right click on create feed images works the old way again.
- Smaller fixes: lightbox scrolling and arrow-key navigation are clearer. Sidebar style previews now work with profiles, with images to follow. A dead button on the Plans page now explains why, and someone else's private moodboard code says it is private. Older browsers get an unsupported-browser notice instead of a crash, and images that fail to load retry instead of leaving a blank tile.
Next on the list are collaborative sharing and generating, persistent edit history, and better ways to explore, find and create styles. The previous week's launches were style previews in the sidebar, larger images in create, and default parameters per folder.
