Perplexity Computer can now run fully local on your Mac

Perplexity Computer can now run both its AI model and agent locally on your Mac. With your permission, it can work with local files and supported apps including Notes, Messages, Mail and Numbers.

Perplexity says planning, reasoning and file processing stay on the device, with code and tools running in isolated sandboxes. You can choose Qwen 3.6 or PPLX Pro, and authorize cloud access when a task needs current information, browser use or connected apps.

Local Computer is available to Pro, Max and Enterprise subscribers through the Perplexity Mac app on supported Apple silicon Macs. Perplexity recommends 36 GB of memory or more.
