Monthly Report - September 2026

Krita 5.3.4/6.0.4 includes a Recorder fix that should stop frame writing from interrupting drawing tools. Exporting a timelapse with missing frames now renames the frame files to remove gaps.

The September development report also covers work outside the stable release. Krita Next can save HDR color metadata in PNG files, and rewritten touchscreen and trackpad gestures are ready for testing, including trackpad gestures in Krita 6 on Wayland.

An optional Recorder mode for capturing only the visible canvas is still in development.
