ChatGPT adds Locked Chats to hide conversations behind a PIN

ChatGPT's Locked Chats let you move conversations out of your regular history, pinned chats and search into a protected space.

Open a chat's more options menu and select Lock chat. You'll find it under Projects, then Locked chats. Web and desktop use a 4-digit account PIN; supported phones also let you use Face ID, Touch ID or device unlock.

New messages in locked chats won't update the memory used in regular chats. Your retention and model-improvement settings stay the same.

The feature is rolling out gradually to Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans across web, iOS, Android, macOS and Windows, so the option may not appear right away.
