Gmail Live answers inbox questions by voice on mobile

Gmail Live lets you ask questions about your inbox by voice and hear Gemini's answers on iOS and Android. Tap Live in the Gmail search bar; source cards show the emails behind the answers.

The rollout began October 15, 2026, with up to 15 days to reach eligible accounts on both Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains. It's limited to US users with EN-US on listed paid Workspace, education, and consumer Google AI plans.

Gmail Live is on by default and follows your existing smart features settings.
