What’s new at HeyGen: September 2026
HeyGen's September releases include open-source avatar demos, a motion-graphics benchmark and Professional Voice Clone through the API.
The avatar demos pair conversation with on-screen visuals, including a GPT-Live-1 integration and a demo that generates motion graphics while the avatar keeps talking. Both repositories are MIT licensed and require a LiveAvatar API key. The GPT-Live-1 demo also needs an OpenAI key with GPT-Live access. HeyGen calls these starters and says to add authentication before exposing them publicly.
Code2Video evaluates generated motion graphics against 168 creative briefs, each with a human-made reference.
Professional Voice Clone trains from at least 20 minutes of one speaker's recordings. Each voice needs a purchased API slot, which includes five trainings per billing period, counting the first training. Synthesis costs 0.6 API credits per generated minute.
