ChatGPT gets a new image model built for complex edits

ChatGPT Images 2.0 is available to all ChatGPT and Codex users, with the underlying gpt-image-2 model also available in the API.

OpenAI says the model improves editing, layouts, and multilingual text rendering, and supports flexible aspect ratios. Its real-world knowledge has a December 2025 cutoff.
